Overview

The Marginalia MCP Server implements the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to manage annotations and provide access to the Marginalia Search engine. This search engine specializes in discovering non-commercial websites and hidden gems across the internet.

To use it, install the server via npm. Configure it with your Marginalia Search API key if required. You can then utilize its search tool by submitting a query and optional parameters.

Key features include access to the Marginalia Search API for web searches, configurable parameters like index and result count, robust error handling, and integration with text-to-speech capabilities.

Use cases involve searching for unique, non-commercial websites, managing and annotating web content, and integrating these search functionalities into MCP-based applications.

To get an API key, request one by contacting kontakt@marginalia.nu. The server is built with JavaScript and installed via npm. Search results are customizable through configurable parameters.
